MINNEAPOLIS (July 19, 2023)— The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) announces an exciting addition to Mia After Dark, its series of art-inspired culinary experiences at the museum. Added by popular demand, the August 2 dinner, prepared by James Beard-nominated Chef Jamie Malone, will feature a sumptuous Italian menu inspired by “Caravaggio’s Judith and Holofernes,” on view at Mia through August 20. Guests will enjoy an exquisite multi-course meal featuring burrata with grilled peaches and aged balsamic, grilled artichokes, littleneck clams and mortadella with sea salt focaccia, cappellacci with sweet corn cream, roast chicken with shallots and lemon and sugar roasted tomato butter, complemented with exceptional wine pairings by sommelier Bill Summerville, all served in an intimate setting in Mia’s elegant Boarman gallery.

Art & Dining After Dark is a unique private dining experience set within the museum’s galleries, with themes inspired by Mia’s special exhibitions. Each evening features a multi-course, salon-style dinner from James Beard Award-nominated Jamie Malone and Paris Dining Club; wine pairings by acclaimed sommelier Bill Summerville; and a private, curator-led tour of the exhibition. Throughout the evening, insights from Mia’s director and curators as well as the culinary team highlight creative expression, from field and kitchen to studio and museum. Tickets are $375 per person, all-inclusive.

Ticket purchases support the museum’s mission.
