Get Involved with the Friends

Your membership in the Friends offers you several ways to meet new people and learn more about Mia and its collections. You’ll also help achieve the Friends’ mission to support, enhance, and sustain Mia’s collection, programs, and influence.

As a member, you become part of a vibrant community that:

  • Attends monthly lectures
  • Participates in the Friends Book Club, discussing Mia’s book of the month and experiencing a book-inspired tour of the museum
  • Enjoys our many engaging events including:
    • Monthly Coffee and Scones gatherings for new members to meet others and learn more about Friends
    • Special occasion luncheons
    • Frequent Friends-only outings, such as a Lake Minnetonka cruise, a visit to a violin-making shop, and a trip to the art conservation lab under Mia
    • Yearly art and architecture trips
  • Attends fundraising events to support our mission
  • Volunteers at events such as lectures and Art in Bloom

In addition, we encourage our members to join our committees to help us achieve our goals of building and retaining a strong community to support Mia.
