Virtual Tour Guidelines

Adult Virtual Tour Group Guidelines

Before Your Virtual Tour

We look forward to providing a private virtual tour for your group. Please check all information on the Virtual Tour Confirmation email to make sure it is correct. If you need to make changes to your virtual tour at any time, please email tours@artsmia.org.

The guide assigned to your tour will contact you via email within 1-2 weeks of the tour. This will be a good time to discuss the tour topic and any questions you may have.

An invitation, either Google Meet or Zoom (whichever you specified on the request form), will be sent one week prior to the tour date. We ask group leaders to share these link details with all participants. Thank you!

Day of Your Tour

The tour will start at the appointed time. Participants will be admitted from the virtual waiting room at the start time. The tour will last 45-60 minutes.

After the Tour

All participants will be sent a follow-up email after the tour with an evaluation to fill out and a “pay-as-you-wish” donation request. We appreciate your feedback and your support of Mia virtual tour programs.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel a tour, email tours@artsmia.org as soon as possible so we may extend the opportunity to another group.

School Group Virtual Tour Guidelines

Before Your Virtual Tour

Thank you for scheduling a virtual tour for you and your students. We look forward to providing an engaging experience for your group. Please review all information on the Virtual Tour Confirmation email to make sure it is correct. If you have questions or need to make changes to your virtual tour at any time, please email tours@artsmia.org.

A tour guide will contact you by email 1-2 weeks before the tour. This will be a good time to discuss your classroom or distance learning situation so that you and we know what to expect. This would also be a good time to let us know how your students engage in virtual conversations (chat, raising hand, jumping in, etc.).

Depending on your school’s security settings, you might need to send us a link to your Zoom or Google meeting the morning of the tour. If you are providing the virtual tour link (Zoom or Google Meet), please let the tour guide know this when you discuss your tour. If Mia is providing the virtual tour link, you will receive a Google calendar invitation one week prior to your tour that will contain the link. If your students will be logging in individually, please share this link with them in advance.

Day of Your Tour

Your tour guide will check in with you for a tech check to make sure your and our technology are working. We have built 5 to 10 minutes into the tour time for this check. When everyone is ready, the guide will check in with all of the students and then engage them in a conversational tour, which will last roughly 30 to 45 minutes.

Thank You and Evaluation

To help us gauge the effectiveness of our new virtual tours, we will follow your tour with an evaluation survey. Your feedback is very important to us; we are committed to refining virtual tours based on what we learn from you and other educators.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel a tour, email tours@artsmia.org as soon as possible so we may extend the opportunity to another group.
