&#8220;Modern Art and Politics&#8221; Public Tour

Vitality Arts: Oil Painting: Learning from the Collection

<p>Explore color mixing, layering, and expressive mark-making in oil paint by copying selected works from Mia’s collection with teaching artist Sophia Weisensel. We&#8217;ll begin each class in the galleries, where you&#8217;ll sketch and closely observe the artworks. Then we&#8217;ll spend the remainder of the sessions creating small-scale copies inspired by these pieces. Each class will start with a teacher-led demonstration, providing guidance on effective techniques for studying and re-creating the works. Some oil painting experience is recommended but not required!</p>

<p>Join us for a special drop-in session of Mini Mia on March 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rotate through various kid-friendly activities at your leisure. Stations include simple art making, movement, and a gallery visit with interactive objects. Try one or all three! Get the wiggles out at a 25-minute movement session, starting at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Art making and gallery visits are available for the duration of the program.</p>
