Nell Pierce

Nell Pierce is a queer, European-American artist, muralist, organizer, and teaching artist that was raised in a family of artists and storytellers. They grew up in California and Maine, and have lived in Minneapolis, MN since 2014. They strive to create art at the nexus of personal and collective stories and, in collaboration with local artist collectives, strive to make art in the service of social justice movements. While they love making art, they are most sustained by the relationships they get to build through their work. They draw inspiration from the natural world – from the ocean to the weeds in their backyard – and are currently working on a project that celebrates and draws connections between resilience in queer communities and resilience in the natural world.

Sobre esta artista

Nell Pierce, persona queer Europea- Americane, es muralista, activista y docente de arte perteneciente a una familia de artistas y narradores de historias. Creció en California y Maine, y ha vivido en Mineápolis desde 2014. Se esfuerza por dotar a sus creaciones de un nexo entre historias personales y colectivas y, en colaboración con asociaciones de artistas locales, pretende poner el arte al servicio de los movimientos por la justicia social. Si bien es cierto que ama su profesión de artista, encuentra su principal satisfacción en las relaciones que consigue forjar mediante su trabajo. Su inspiración emana del mundo natural, desde el océano hasta las hierbas del jardín, y trabaja actualmente en un proyecto que celebra y conecta la resiliencia en las comunidades queer y en el mundo natural.
